Hospitable? You can help.

We've all been to homes where everything was great. The kind of places we can't wait to return to. We've also been to homes we might not return to any time soon. What makes the difference? What makes a person feel welcome? comfortable? attended to?

Imagine stopping by this place for the first time. What would your impression be?

WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO MAKE THESE ROOMS FEEL MORE HOSPITABLE? We obviously can't follow through on every single idea, but we'll take your thoughts into consideration and try to make some great changes.

The Changing Face of Worship - Mic Jensen

I just watched what i guess you can call a documentary called the changing face of worship. it blew my mind! I would like it if others saw it and posted what they thought of it. I found it on netflix. it went around the country looking at different "post modern" churches. what they were doing how they were growing. it is truly amazing how God's work is impacting so many. When Jesus said "come as you are" he meant it. watch this movie and find out what i mean.

"Honk if you love Jesus!" - Mark Thomas

Hey, folks!

I just want to rant a little about people who drive too fast or weave in and out of traffic and have bumper stickers that say, "Honk if you love Jesus!" It happened to me recently on a country road, only the bumper sticker said, "Jesus or Hell" or something like that - the car was moving a little too fast to get a good read. It's a good thing it wasn't "Honk if you love Jesus!" because I was free to honk without being misunderstood.

Anyway, it left me thinking about what kind of a witness a Christian gives to the world when the world is left eating dust. I almost wanted to kill the guy (or gal - remember, the car was really moving).

And then my son piped up from the back seat, "Dad, how fast are you going?" Hmmm... You know, some cars just have this tendency to creep, particularly when one is fuming about cars driving too fast?

My children and I were wearing seat belts, by the way.

But, I'm wondering if anyone out there has ever had the experience of getting caught in one's own judgment? It reminds me of a guy named David, I guess. Did you change the habit, change the judgment, or something else?

Welcome one, welcome all!

Hey guys. Welcome to the Living Stones community (online version). I can't wait to hear your thoughts, ideas, and questions.

Life, theology, mysteries, heart aches, the ordinary, the simple, the profound, the beautiful, the horrible, the ranting, the raving, and the wonder of it all...

Everything is fair game.

Most importantly, let's just talk. Get to know each other. Share your thoughts. We'll share back.
